Bacon, Cheddar & Chive Scones A savory scone to brighten your morning routine Ingredients 2 cups all purpose flour 2 tsp baking powder 2 tsp sugar 1 tsp salt 1 tsp pepper 1/4 cup butter, chilled & cut-up 4 oz sharp cheddar 3/4 cup whipping cream 6 slices crispy bacon, crumbled 2 tbsp. dried chives 1 tbsp. whipping cream Instructions 1.Preheat oven to 425 2.Line a baking sheet with parchment paper 3.In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, sugar & salt 4.Using a pastry cutter, or fork, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs 5.Stir in cheese 6.Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and set aside 7.In a medium bowl combine 3/4 cup whipping cream, bacon and chives 8.Add cream mixture to the flour mixture all at once 9.Using a fork combine until just moistened (if dough is too crumbly add in cream 1 tbsp. at a time) 10.Turn dough out into lightly floured surface and knead for 10-12 strokes or until nearly smooth 11.Pat into a circle and cut into 8 wedges 12.Transfer to baking sheet and top with remaining cream using a pastry brush 13.Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown 14.Remove scones from baking sheet and let cool 15.ENJOY!!
