Bad attitudes Special Gospel of the day: Matthew9:32-38(August23, 2013-Friday) Matthew 9:32-38-As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel. But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils. And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly [is] plenteous, but the labourers [are] few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest: In our gospel, we can discover that a dumb or mute person was healed when this person attached to Jesus Christ. The person became dumb because he was possessed by evil spirit and this is an implication that if we are mute in speaking the whole truth, maybe we are also possessed by evil spirit. Before the dumb healed, he never speaks due to the evil in his life. Meaning, for us to be able to speak the truth, we need to ask the power of Jesus to cast out the evil in our hearts. Take note, when Jesus did this wonder, the people accused him as a devil instrument because he commanded the devil to get out from the victim. Are you a victim? Remember, “in doing right, expect opponents.” This is an indication that each one of us is possible possessed by evils because of our “bad attitudes.” Do you have bad characteristics?
