Bad news for those desperate to paint Zimmerman as a racist, simply to justify their outrage: He was not a racist. Zimmerman was a guy who went into a business partnership with a black man. He was a guy who spent several years mentoring black youths. He once started a fundraiser to support a homeless black man who had been victimized. He was not the "profiler" that people wanted him to be. And everybody who actually studied this case knew it...including the FBI:
