Bahrain efforts to fight terror backed PAKISTANS Interior Minister Chowdhury Nisar Ali Khan emphasised his countrys firm support for Bahrain in counterterrorism, and its full backing for all measures taken to maintain security and stability. Speaking on Al Arabia TV, Mr Khan stressed his countrys readiness to provide expertise and experience of combating terrorism and extremism to Bahrain, which too has its own expertise in this field under the joint co-operation agreements between the two friendly countries in security fields. He said Pakistan has good, solid relations with all GCC countries and has distinctive brotherly relations with Bahrain which reflect positively on the growth of mutual co-operation. Mr Khan pointed out that the 9/11 attacks in New York City have been called the biggest terrorist crime in recent history but Pakistan too lost many people to terrorism and paid a heavy price in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. He said that Pakistan was the only country which suffered the greatest number of victims and a number of terror attacks over the past 13 years. However, Pakistan is still fighting terrorism and has considerable expertise in combating terrorists and extremists. l Bahrains Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa met his Pakistani counterpart and discussed ways of developing co-operation under a newly-signed memorandum of understanding.
