Bailee Merrill, my daughter, of her own accord and inspiration she has received, has decided to pull out of several of her classes in her Senior year: AP Political Science Class which is teaching a socialistic world view and misinformation about our founding fathers. They are teaching positive and negative liberty principles, and positive liberty is when the government institutes all the laws to protect its citizens, including offering healthcare, welfare, social security, etc., They are also teaching that Thomas Jefferson is the one who pulled prayer out of schools. Wow! Talk about man-made re-written American History. She is also pulling out of AP Literature because of the novels she is required to read which is below the standards she has set for herself. She will be taking online classes from American Heritage, an LDS School in Lehi. She is so excited. She wants to spend her time learning true principles, not man-made re-written U.S. history and secularism. Its kind of awesome to hear that many LDS students in Bailees Political Science did stand up to the teacher and profess what they believed to be true. Thank you to those parents that are teaching their children. PLEASE educate your children in the Divine Principles of our Constitution, and the great men who founded our country. The only place they will learn this is in the home. D&C 98, 101 and 134 talk much about the importance of befriending that Constitution which God inspired men to write to protect our liberties. We must become an educated people regarding our Constitution and the Bill of Rights, or we will not be able to discern between those laws that support our inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and those that erode our freedoms. The 5,000 Year Leap by Cleon Skousen is an excellent place to start. God is the author of our liberties and instituted the divine laws that we are to live under, and government was instituted to protect those laws. D&C 98:7, And as pertaining to law of man, whatsoever is more or less than this, cometh of evil. (Pertaining to our original constitution.)
