Baker is such a ham, I must have taken over 200 pictures of him - TopicsExpress

Baker is such a ham, I must have taken over 200 pictures of him already.....I was looking through the ones since we arrived home and noticed that he was never alone, not even in one picture. He just wants companionship and wants to be loved. I took the day off yesterday. I have never left my own pups & kitties for more than a couple days so it was very hard being gone for over a week, lots of snuggle time to catch up on and wanted to make sure Baker would be okay with our routine. You could not have ordered up a more beautiful day, sunny, breezy & 75 degrees. We played, he went to the vet, had lots of special treats and played some more. A few times I would notice him stop dead in his tracks and prance over to the food bowl and take a few nibbles and lap up some water...and then get back to what he was doing. He thinks its fantastic having food whenever he wants :) The vet visit went great. He does have a lump on his side and they aspirated it and unfortunately it is not just a fatty lump. They found spindle cells. I do not know much at this time but I have the choice to either send in the current sample to a labratory for further evaluation, which could come back undiagnosed or put him through surgery, remove the tumor, have it sent off for a firm diagnosis. Our vet is off today so I have a day to think about what is best for him. I am leaning towards letting him get a bit healthier and having the tumor removed for further evaluation. If I send off the current sample and it comes back as undiagnosed that will have to be done anyways so believe a full panel diagnosis is the best route for the quickest diagnosis. The vet feels strongly his injuries, wounds & punctures were inflicted upon him, whether by dog fighting or some other sort of abuse. This is due to the pattern of the wounds and the amount of scar tissue he has which would not be present if it were just flea/bug bites and from scratching/chewing himself. Whatever happened to him, he has clearly left it in the past. He is just so full of love, snuggles, life, happiness and the rate at which is wounds are healing are amazing. The vet did put him on 10 days of antibiotics to help ward off any undetected infections. Overall we raised $825!!!! I was not online much for the last few days so was just amazed and so grateful when I saw the current total this morning! Baker and I sincerely appreciate everyone going out of their way to help! I know when I committed to him he had along road ahead and the cost was a worry. Once I saw how much folks were willing to join hands and assist, that worry was lifted and I know me not being stressed has helped Baker also feel relaxed
