Bali has such a way of punishing smart-arses. Im sitting in a warung on Batubelig beach watching a massive storm cell heading towards me from the sea. With my vast knowledge of meteorology and long-term experience of Balis weather patterns, I calculate that I have 20 minutes before the storm hits, so I have to leave in 10 minutes in order to get home dry. So a massive wind sweeps in from the sea 3 minutes later, carrying 50,000 litres of salt spray with it, which fortunately is washed off by the downpour which follows. I struggle into my wet raincoat, because thats what life has conditioned me to do, thus ensuring that all the water I have absorbed will be securely kept on the INSIDE of the raincoat. Smart move, Vyt. Of course, after getting home in the driving rain and being thrown around by storm squalls, I park the bike, and it stops raining. Cant win em all, I suppose ...
