Ballito Street Heroes sends car lover to Malaysian Grand Prix As if bringing the fastest and flashiest supercars to a time trial race track in KwaZulu-Natal for two days was not enough, Ballito Street Heroes, brought to car lovers by Edusport in conjunction with the Ballito Auto SMD Group, the ILembe Chamber of Commerce, the KwaDukuza Municipality and accommodation partners Fairmont Zimbali, have now put the cherry on top of their inaugural event cake. Rakesh Singh from Mount Edgecombe was selected at random by Shaun Duminy, head of the event’s title sponsors Ballito Auto SMD, at his showroom on Friday (20 September) as the lucky winner of an all-expenses paid trip to the Malaysian Formula 1 Grand Prix in Kuala Lumpur next year. Singh was entered into the draw by virtue of participating in the Sound Off competition at the September 14 and 15 showpiece. “This is a huge bonus. I used to watch a lot of Formula 1 when Michael Schumacher was driving, but have not watched for a while. I am sure this will get me back into it. I have a lot of catching up on the sport to do before I go, but I am really looking forward to it,” he said. All car entrants into the Show and Shine, Dyno, Sound Off, and the Time Trial Track Attack competitions, along with all spectators who bought their tickets on iTickets.co.za were entered into the draw. Singh will enjoy a full package to the race in March, which includes flights, airport taxes, accommodation for 3 nights at a 4 star hotel, as well as all airport and event transfers for the race weekend. “The Malaysian Grand Prix package was donated by Edusport Travel as an inaugural event prize to encourage people to participate in Ballito Street Heroes,” said Ed Hill, a consultant to Edusport, the organisers of the Ballito Street Heroes event. It clearly worked, with the event being supported by a wide range of car enthusiast entries. When Edusport is not hosting prestigious events like Ballito Street Heroes, or giving away once-in-a-lifetime experiences as prizes, the company offers Grand Prix packages to the greatest races around the world. Formula 1 fans can tailor make a package to suit their needs, and budget, which will cover them from flights and accommodation to attending all practice and qualifying sessions along with the main race. Edusport also offers hospitality and luxury options for both corporates and individuals who are looking to impress clients, or simply enjoy a first-class VIP experience themselves. The weekend packages on offer include the best seats at a range of Grand Prix circuits, gourmet dining, cocktail parties, private lounge access, and pit access to see the drivers and teams up close. All luxury and hospitality packages may be customized to suit any client’s need. For more information on Edusport Travel go to edusport.co.za.
