Baltic Sea Art Park International Competition Type: Open, international Location: Pärnu, Estonia Languages: Estonian, English Eligiblity: The participants of the competition can be teams in which at least one member is an architect with a right to engineer in the European Union. Registration Deadline: 10 October 2013 Submission Deadline: 10 October 2013 Awards: The first prize - 5000 euros The second prize - 3000 euros The third prize - 2000 euros Two promotion prizes - 1000 euros Jury: Edward Lucie-Smith – art historian, England (Patron for the Foundation of the New Art Museum) Toomas Kivimägi – the Mayor of Pärnu Kim Utzon – architect, Denmark Pekka Vapaavuori – architect, Finland Ilmar Reepalu, - architect-urbanist, Sweden Indrek Näkk – architect, representative of the Union of the Estonian Architects Mark Soosaar – art director of the Museum of New Art, Pärnu Jaak Huimerind – architect, representative of the Museum of New Art, Pärnu Karri Tiigisoon – architect of the Town of Pärnu Design Challenge: The Museum of New Art, in cooperation with the Union of Estonian Architects and Pärnu City Government, announced an international architectural competition to establish the Baltic Sea Art Park in Pärnu. The objective of the competition is to find the best vision in terms of architecture and planning to further develop the art park of the Baltic Sea countries. The Baltic Sea Art Park shall be located in the City of Pärnu, on the left shore of the Pärnu River, in the immediate proximity of the historical Suursild, the only car bridge in the city centre. According to initial plans, the folk art of sea countries and masterpieces of professional creators shall be exhibited. Ten countries located on the shores of our common sea are represented: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland, along with autonomous Aland.
