Baltimore, MD area: Sweet Pepper is in need of a new home It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you, through no fault of her own nor the fault of her current owners, beloved Sweet Pepper is moving on to the next step of her journey. You see, we have found that she does not like small children very much and with the addition of a baby to her adoptive family the very difficult decision to re-home her has been made. This decision has not been made lightly and I can honestly tell you that her adoptive parents have done everything right from a re-fresher training course when pregnant to the first introductions to the baby and everything in between. No matter how hard we try sometimes things just arent meant to be. BUT, thats where Sweet Peppers new journey begins and I am asking all of you to help her find the happy new beginning that she so deserves. For those of you that dont know Sweet Pepper...and her adorably wonderful under bite...she is an AMAZING dog! You can check out a short story on her and her time at the animal shelter here: danacubbagephotography/blog/sweet-pepper-fosters-needed-at-barcs Sweet Pepper loves to play, snuggle, and was even her adoptive Moms running buddy (although that gorgeous black coat can make her pretty hot and need to rest now and then). She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, has no known medical problems, is fully housebroken and crate trained (although she is rarely crated), sleeps in a dog bed instead of the human bed (except when I dog sit her - she knows Im a sucker!), knows basic commands like sit, stay, lay, up/down, sit and wait at the open door before walking out, stop at street crossings, etc. Shes a goofball that makes a sound that can be likened to a Wookie when she wants to go outside. This girl loves people and bonds very closely to her humans. Sweet Pepper is super smart and learns new routines quickly. Honestly, the only things that could be considered negatives are the dislike of small children, full-on hatred of cats, and dog selectiveness. As a result Sweet Pepper must be placed in a home that does not have small children or cats and she is not the kind of dog that will do well at the dog park. However, she can do well with non-dominant dogs when introduced appropriately and supervised by an experienced dog owner/handler. She and my Eve are best buddies as you can see from a few of the photos. To me, and I know to many others, these are not truly negatives. Instead, they are personality traits/preferences just like humans have and I know that there is a human out there that agrees with her and will give her the best life possible. That human will be rewarded with lovely under bite smooches, snuggles, and a lifetime of unconditional love. Please help us find Sweet Peppers new human(s) by sending any serious inquiries to me, Kim , at mantaray15@hotmail or 410-916-6093. An application process will be required for any potential adopters or fosters. Yes, fosters as well! Even though we would love for her to be able to go directly into a permanent loving home, we have agreement from a FANTASTIC rescue group to take her in if a long-term foster steps up. Does this sound like it could be you or maybe one of your friends or family? If so, please get in touch with Kim Leduc today!
