Baltimore, looking for work, the infected job hunting web sites - TopicsExpress

Baltimore, looking for work, the infected job hunting web sites and advertisers continue to be a pain in the ass; however, this is not a ranting, venting, breaking your balls diatribe. This is about the magic going hand in hand with the frustration. I honestly can not claim the credit; its all about Sadie. Our first day here, first morning out for my coffee, cigar and her treat. Paula at the 7-11 looks out the door and succumbs to heart melt. The obligatory question was barely heard as she headed out the door your dog?; instantly kneels down looking into Sadies eyes rubbing her face and ears cooing hows my girl. Paula is from Portland, she, her husband and son are all Seahawks fans as well as Sadie fans. The day I applied at Lowes while my computer was frozen the application process which was suppose to take a couple minutes on line ended up being 2 hrs plus. Their computer froze also and to complete the app. I had to move to the paint counter not watching the door. When I did walk out Sadie was gone! Leash and all Sadie was nowhere to be found. The spectacle I made of myself in the store insisting she had been taken, not wandered off, was enough get the attention of an employee who remembered some one talking with an employee and handing over a piece of paper. When the person was finally tracked down the piece of paper was discovered, some how over looked by all the concerned employees who thought she had just taken off. The note read; Sadie Dog Brindle Markings Chad Nazworth cell 301 ***-**** He and his wife took Sadie home because another man told them some guy tied her up and abandoned her here When they looked into her eyes they also suffered heart melt and having a bad feeling about stranger #1 decided to leave the note and keep her safe at home. The last time I stopped at one of the big super markets for 2 minutes, looking out the window every 10 seconds, a man was kneeling with Sadie making eye contact, talking, while she stared back with one paw firmly planted on his leg. I watched the attention from the check out line without blinking and having a good gut feeling just waited. The man is a stock person who had just gotten off shift and wanted to shield her from the wind while getting in some rubs and listen to her cooing back. She has this effect on 99% of the people who see her. The light in the eyes and the body language will be closed, guarded, suspicious and afraid to make contact with a stranger on the street. One look at Sadie and the enthusiasm of relating to another human being, even a complete stranger, bubbles up in unmistakable joy. Sadie succeeds at bringing the Maple Falls attitude to a city that still does suffer ethnic and racial distrust, fear and tension. Thank you Maple Falls for helping teach Sadie how to trust, Im a very lucky man to be riding the good vibes she brings to all humanity.
