[link] Huynh Phuong Do had been carving wood since he was 15-years-old in Hoi An, famously known as Vietnam’s Bamboo Village. [link] One day, floods in the upper reaches of the Thu Bon River brought bamboo stumps to the river bank in front of his house. And the wood artisan turned those seemingly worthless stumps into unique works of art. [link] Today, Huynh Phuong Do has his own sculpture showroom, and his works can be found in over 20 souvenir stores in Hoi An Town and Danang City and fetch VND150,000-250,000 each. [link] Huynh Phuong Do usually will go to the nearby forests to search for the bamboo roots. [link] He oftenly uses bulldozers and diggers to pull them out of the ground.
