Bandcamp downloads: Unfortunately we need to suspend the MonkeyTrial downloads on bandcamp. On the 1st January 2015 the UK government will change the VAT rules covering the sale of digital items (including music, games, e-books etc) such that sales to EU countries (excluding the UK) will be eligible for VAT regardless of the usual UK VAT thresholds. This has serious consequences for many small businesses and independent musicians who use the net to distribute their work directly via downloads. The current arrangement with bandcamp places the responsibility of VAT payments with the artists. In other words the first sale of a MonkeyTrial download to the EU (but not to the UK) would require us to register for VAT, and we’re not set up to handle the associated red tape. We hope this situation will only be temporary - well re-activate downloads as soon as possible. Disabling downloads will also break ‘supporter’ links on bandcamp. We’re sorry about this - thanks for your support and your patience while this gets sorted out.
