Banks High Class of 74 Did we make any impact? Did we open any door? We survived the cold hallways, PE on the hill, Gym suits & bell bottoms & even lunchroom meals. We survived coaches paddles, biology, even Latin! Ball games & plays & proms full of satin. Cascade Plunge & Horner Drive, And drive-in movies filled the night, Curlers & pom poms, Helmets & cleats Pep rallies, bleachers, Pounding of feet. Yellow paint on our beloved jet, Who would think to even dare?! Rings & tuxes, caps thrown in the air. For some came college, some jobs & kids, Some loved & lost, most picked up the bits. We saw man walk on the moon! Microwaves, color TV! Microsoft, the internet, and Walmart came to be! We cried at President Kennedys death, Survived Viet Nam and civil rights, Woodstock & hippies, and Three Dog Night! Star Trek & Star Wars & Johnny Carson kept us up. As time passed hair grew white, Arthur crept in, and we lost some of us. So here we are, 40 years gone, Missing, reminiscing, recalling a song, Kids today think their world is starting to soar? But WEre the ones, who opened the door! ·
