(Bar Harbor Baptist) Church boots Boy Scouts Written by Robert Levin Friday, September 13, 2013 at 9:03 am BAR HARBOR — A decision by the Boy Scouts of America to end a ban on admitting gay members is causing a local church to sever their relationship with the group. Bar Harbor Troop 89 recently received notice that the Baptist Church here was ending their role as the group’s charter organization. That means they will have to find a new place to meet because of the policy change. Baptist Church minister Scott Records said this week that his church has enjoyed a good relationship with the local scout troop for many years, and that there were no hard feelings or rancor involved with ending the relationship.
