Barcelona actually paid €95 million for Neymar, some €38m more than the €57m officially reported by Sandro Rosell. According to the newspaper El Mundo, this is the fee that figures in the contracts signed between the club and the Brazilian player, copies of which are now in the possession of the Spanish High Court. A further €4m relates to an undertaking to secure advertising contracts with Brazilian companies, while another €2.5m was given to the Neymar family towards social causes, specifically aiding children in the São Paulo favelas.
