Barotseland National Youth Is Not Part And Parcel Of The Newly Formed Barotse Freedom Alliance PRESS STATEMENT BY BAROTSELAND NATIONAL YOUTH LEAGUE - BNYL BAROTSELAND NATIONAL YOUTH IS NOT PART AND PARCEL OF THE NEWLY FORMED BAROTSE FREEDOM ALLIANCE We the Barotseland National Youth League (BNYL) do hereby inform our general membership, the Barotzis at large both in the Royal Barotseland and in the Diaspora as well as the international community that as an internationally recognized liberation movement of the Royal Barotseland Kingdom, we are not part and parcel of the newly formed Barotse Freedom Alliance (BFA) contrary to the media statement issued by Mr. Situmbeko Musialela who happens to be the publicity Secretary of the same on 1st July 2013 on Oblate Radio Liseli on the 12:45 P.M News and the News was circulated on mobile 24/7 News agency, which was circulated to mobile phones in both Zambia and Barotseland. As a civilized organization we want to re-emphasize that we welcome this newly formed liberation movement and we assure and promise the people of Royal Barotseland that we will continue to co-exist with them, because they have every right as Barotzish to form and belong to any organization they wish. We are of the opinion that we have established a reputation and built confidence consistently over the years both to our membership and the international community which we would not like to jeopardize by joining a new entity. As a new entity they will have to start afresh to build their own reputation through the formulation and publicizing of their own agenda and manifesto. However, we want to categorically state here that we have not joined the newly formed Barotse freedom alliance (BFA), but we shall continue to exist and remain the Barotseland national youth league (BNYL). We further more believe that if Mr. Clement Sinyinda and his newly formed Barotse Freedom Alliance really desired Unity, they should have joined already existing movements such as the Linyungandambo and make their contribution within the programs of the already established movements rather than asking everyone of us to join a new entity whose agenda is yet to be formulated and who will still have the burden of establishing a rapport and build confidence with the international community, a situation we find retrogressive. As an organization we have instead resolved to rally behind the Royal Barotseland Government in waiting, which is under the able leadership of His Excellency RT Hon. Afumba Mombotwa because this is what we have been waiting for, and they have done a lot thus far and in as far as the formation of the governance institutions are concerned, such as; Barotseland football federation (BFF), the Barotse post an on line News paper, the newly established Radio Barotseland and many more. Therefore we challenge Mr. Situmbeko Musialela to tell the people of the royal Barotseland when and where this newly formed Barotse Freedom Alliance (BFA) was established and henceforth to publicly produce or publish the roll call for the people who were present and their respective organizations where they came from. We further, challenge Mr. Situmbeko Musialela to publicly tell the whole world and the people of the Royal Barotseland Kingdom which liberation movement he belonged to before he became the publicity Secretary for newly formed Barotse Freedom Alliance (BFA). Furthermore, we demand that Mr Situmbeko Musialela tells the world and the people of the Royal Barotseland who the leader of the said Alliance is and from which organization is he coming from. We would also like to further advise the media houses such as Oblate Radio Liseli to be checking on the facts of the stories they receive before airing them, because what Oblate Radio Liseli did amounts to professional misconduct. Being one of the liberation movements mentioned by Mr. Situmbeko Musialela to have allegedly merged to form the newly created Barotse Freedom Alliance (BFA), we were supposed to be contacted by Oblate Radio Liseli because that’s what equity (natural justice) demands to confirm the authentic of the story in order to ensure that there is fairness, but to our disappointment the said Radio station went ahead and aired the story which was one sided. Conclusion. We would like, therefore, to assure both our membership and our international supporters that we have not and shall not deviate from our ideals and objectives as we have communicated through various correspondences in the past and can rest assured that we are the Barotseland National Youth league, whose motto is Total Independence of Barotseland from Northern Rhodesia. Thank you and may God bless the Royal Kingdom of Barotseland.
