Barrenness in Marriage: Almost every newly married couple expects to have children or at least a child of their own. Unfortunately many couples have been devastated by the reality of barrenness. Infertility can be heart wrenching. Rachel preferred death to childlessness. (Gen. 30:1) Before getting married every couple must realize that marriage is the union of three; God, husband and wife. Children are a gift from God. It is wrong to punish your spouse or hold him/her responsible for the failure to have children. Neither husband nor wife has the power to produce a child. Regardless of who is infertile join hands together in prayer and support each other while you wait on God. Just because you are barren today doesn’t mean you’ll die barren.
