Barça studies a move for Agüero Kun, First Contact. That was the headline that Barcelona woke up to on Wednesday. The Local newspaper Sport led with a headline that the Catalan giants have contacted Sergio Agüero’s agent to sound out whether the Argentine striker would be interested in making his La Liga return to play alongside his friend Lionel Messi. Although, according to the newspaper’s reports, everybody at the club is aware that signing the Argentine will not be easy, the plan is to do everything possible to bring in a world-class player. That is why the club’s sporting directors took the first two steps in recent days: firstly, to see if the Argentine wanted to leave the Premier League and secondly, hold several meetings with his agent, Hernán Reguera, who has been living in Barcelona for the past two months. The transfer fee will be fundamental. That is why Barcelona’s directors asked Reguera to guarantee they will be welcomed to open formal negotiations, no later than the end of this year. Only then will they travel to Manchester, where they know they face an uphill struggle to sign the Argentine. Several sources point towards a transfer fee in excess of €50m.
