Based On Our Moral Choices We Will Either Experience The Resurrection Of Life Or The Resurrection Of Damnation And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. (Jos. 24:15) We Will Serve The Lord - https://youtube/watch?v=Z8iQ4q6Ri10 God is reminding us that based on the choices we make our final destiny will be determined. You see my friend; King Solomon in Ecc. 12:14 said “For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” Yes my friend, our words, thoughts and actions will show “whether our faith in Christ and our surrender to Him are genuine or not”. It will “demonstrate whether we are still “dead in trespasses and sins” or “dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This morning the Lord is reminding the every single thing that we do or say will be recorded in the books of Heaven. Our transgressions will be blotted out by the blood of Jesus Christ only after we have confessed and repented of them. The only way that we can experience the resurrection of life is if we surrender every area of our lives to the total control of the Holy Spirit and allow Him to recreate the image of God in us. In Rev. 14, we are reminded that the judgment has set and the books have been opened. Since 1844 the investigative judgment started in Heaven. At this very moment God is making the final decision on the eternal destiny of someone. We are not sure when our words, thoughts and actions will be reviewed. We have no clue when God will make His determination regarding our final destiny. Therefore its important for us to make our calling and election sure right now. The Bible is clear that there will be a resurrection of life and a resurrection of damnation. The Bible is very clear that every single human been will be resurrected to hear the final verdict regarding their eternal destiny. I pray that we will continue to surrender every area of our lives to the total control of the Holy Spirit so that God can complete His work on transformation on our heart. Total surrender is the only way that we are going to make it to Heaven. In consequence of Adams sin, death passed upon the whole human race. All alike go down into the grave. And through the provisions of the plan of salvation, all are to be brought forth from their graves. There shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust; for as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Acts 24:15; 1 Corinthians 15:22. But a distinction is made between the two classes that are brought forth. All that are in the graves shall hear His voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. John 5:28, 29. They who have been accounted worthy of the resurrection of life are blessed and holy. On such the second death hath no power. Revelation 20:6. But those who have not, through repentance and faith, secured pardon, must receive the penalty of transgression--the wages of sin. They suffer punishment varying in duration and intensity, according to their works, but finally ending in the second death. Since it is impossible for God, consistently with His justice and mercy, to save the sinner in his sins, He deprives him of the existence which his transgressions have forfeited and of which he has proved himself unworthy. Says an inspired writer: Yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. And another declares: They shall be as though they had not been. Psalm 37:10; Obadiah 16. Covered with infamy, they sink into hopeless, eternal oblivion. (The Great Controversy, pg. 544, 545 – Ellen G. Ellen G. White) Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. James 2:18. The part man has to act in the salvation of the soul is to believe on Jesus Christ as a perfect Redeemer, not for some other man, but for his own self. Christ imputes His perfection and righteousness to the believing sinner when he does not continue in sin, but turns from transgression to obedience of the commandments. While God can be just, and yet justify the sinner through the merits of Christ, no man can cover his soul with the garments of Christs righteousness while practicing known sins, or neglecting known duties. The apostle James saw that dangers would arise in presenting the subject of justification by faith, and he labored to show that genuine faith cannot exist without corresponding works. The experience of Abraham is presented. Seest thou, he says, how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? James 2:22. Thus genuine faith does a genuine work in the believer. Faith and obedience bring a solid, valuable experience. Faith and works are two oars which we must use equally if we [would] press our way up the stream against the current of unbelief. The so-called faith that does not work by love and purify the soul will not justify any man. Ye see, says the apostle, how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. James 2:24. Abraham believed God. How do we know that he believed? His works testified to the character of his faith, and his faith was accounted to him for righteousness. We need the faith of Abraham in our day, to lighten the darkness that gathers around us, shutting out the sweet sunlight of Gods love, and dwarfing spiritual growth. Our faith should be prolific of good works; for faith without works is dead. (The Faith I Live By, pg. 115 – Ellen G. White)
