"Based on testing done not by the FDA, but by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, Dogswell pulled several brands from store shelves, including Breathies, Happy Heart, Happy Hips, Mellow Mut, Shape Up, Veggie Life, Vitality and Vitakitty, all with a “best before” date of 1.28.2015 or any earlier date. Dogswell follows Nestle Purina, Del Monte, Hartz Mountain, Publix Stores and IMS Pet Industries in recalling jerky-type dog treats due to antibiotic contamination. The company insists there is no evidence to suggest unapproved antibiotic residue poses a health risk to humans or pets."
