Based on the teasers, Fargo (the upcoming series on FX based on the Coen Brothers classic movie) will likely be as popular as its inspiration. Making it one of a small class of such successful projects: Mash (which was so good, the series lasted longer than the actual Korean War it was based on), the Odd Couple, Friday Night Lights, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, La Femme Nikita, Happy Days/Laverne & Shirley (Based on American Graffiti), Private Benjamin, and Planet of the Apes.
