Basho & Haiku: Narrow Road to the Deep North In this retreat led by Kaz Tanahashi, Natalie Goldberg, Roshi Joan Halifax, these old friends will take the journey into the deep north with us. We will examine the life of great master Basho, who practiced Zen through the Way of Haiku. In l689 Basho walked Japans Northern Interior, recording the essential and transient nature of what he encountered. This path was also a metaphoric trail into ones dark and mysterious center. Like Basho, we will practice meditation, walking and haiku-writing as a way into No Mind.
