Basically what this research study says is that the human-dog bond is similar to the parent-child bond. Dogs relate to us as their "parent" and act based on our guidance, just like a human child would. This just confirms what millions of dog parents already know about their dog-child! I think that this finding can be extended to other animals as well, but other animals may express their attachment to humans differently than a dog, i.e. a cat or a rabbit for example...
