Battle of the Mind... The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. - Rom 8:6 Theres a constant battle over your mind to rule it. The mind is the center of life, and whoever controls the mind control your entire life. The flesh and Spirit are the two forces fighting over the control of your mind; the one you yield to has mastery over your life. > I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. (Galatians 5:16-18 NKJV) • Flesh thrives on lust, which is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. (Proverbs 14:12 NKJV) > Satan also influences the flesh because the whole world lies under his sway, the wicked one (1Jn 5:19). • Flesh(Eve) has been the way of satan from the beginning to get to the spirit(Adam) God created to have dominion over every living thing on earth. Eve repented the flesh while Adam the Spirit; satan went to Eve because he knew the word was given to Adam and not to Eve. Its the word that makes a man Spirit (Jn 10:34-35). Satan got the man after he yielded to Eve; likewise satan, sin and death gets to a man that yields to the flesh. > When we yield to the flesh, we become like every other human just as Samson became when he yielded to Delilah (Read Jgs 16). Flesh shaved off Samsons hair wherein his power lies, but his hair began to grow again. No matter how flesh may deal with the chosen of God, theres hope of glory to him or her (Col 1:27); For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again (Prov 24:16). • Jesus says, It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63 NKJV) > The flesh doesnt profit anyone, for those in the flesh may gain the whole world, but loses their own souls (Matt 16:26). > The Spirit is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come (1Tim 4:8). > We are connected to God and all He possesses through the Spirit; for he who is joined to the Lord is one Spirit with Him. (I Corinthians 6:17 NKJV) • When our mind yields to the Spirit of truth, He guides us into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell us things to come. He will glorify Jesus, for He will take of what is His and declare it to us (Jn 16:13-14). > It is the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus that has made me free from the law of sin and death (Rom 8:2). • God has revealed to us through His Spirit what “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him; For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. (I Corinthians 2:9-10, 12-13 NKJV) > As Paul said, I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh...if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law...the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (Galatians 5:16, 18, 22-25 NKJV) • Let us, by the mercies of God, yield to the Spirit, that we may present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is our reasonable service. And let us not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind, that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Rom 12:1-2). + Finally, I pray that the grace to yield the control of your mind to the Spirit of God be given to you; that the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen! (1Thes 5:23) You shall not lose your mind to the flesh!
