Bay Drop Heart Breaker to District Foe The Cypress Bay Baseball Team dropped another close district game 3-2 on Tuesday night to Cooper City. The night started out with excitement as the Bay collected three hits and scored two runs in the top of the first. But the early lead was short lived as the Cowboys tied it at two in the bottom half of the first. Alex Rodriguez kept the score tied, but the Lightning just couldnt collect a hit with runners in scoring position. Cooper City was able to score the eventual winning run in the bottom of the 5th inning with only one infield hit. A hit batsman was advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and moved to third on a bunt for a hit. A check swing fielders choice allowed the go ahead run to score. The Lightning almost broke the game open in the top of the second but a long drive by Tommy Quintero with two runners on sailed just foul of the right field foul pole. Though the Lightning more than doubled the hot output of the Cowboys, the failure to get the two out hit proved pivotal.
