Bayelsa Youth Conference is academic, career oriented, leadership, and entrepreneurship mentorship forum which create platforms where young people can understand the essence of living and be inspired by those who have tread the harsh and smooth paths of life and have become achievers. The conference is targeted at youth from age 14–35 and secondary school students at all level (JSS1–SS3) that lives in the State. Also, the students will be accompanied by their teachers to the venue putting on their school uniforms. Furthermore, this conference has platforms where our youth and students showcase their talents. AIM OF THE CONFERENCE The aim of Bayelsa Youth Conference is to promote and support the role of young people in State-building activities that contribute to living together in dignity and dialogue through a network of specifically trained young people who strengthen the presence and promote the values of the State in all areas and communities. THE OBJECTIVE OF THE CONFERENCE Bayelsa Youth Conference Objectives are: 1. To promote the presence and the role of young Bayelsians as positive actors of change in State-building processes; 2. To promote entrepreneurial skills among the State’s youth, boosting their intellectual creativity and helping them with tips to live financially independent; 3. To support the field presence and activities of the State by fostering cooperation with stakeholders, partners, non-governmental organizations which working in the field of State-building in order to promote the values of the Sate; 4. To develop the impact and the expertise of the State’s youth sector in conflict affected areas through non-formal education activities with young people; 5. To support and give visibility to at least 100 local youth-led projects for State-building in conflict affected areas and communities 6. To advance youth policy’s role in State-building and conflict transformation; 7. To create and support the State’s youth to secure a greater future for themselves and to help them succeed in their academic, career, and leadership role; 8. To promote leadership qualities among the youth by learning the techniques of self-determination, self-confidence, greater understanding of community problems and interest in solving those problems Join us to build a nation of resourceful and innovative young minds that will become agents of change, role models and great leaders to generations.
