Be a spectacle at the 2014 Poinsettia Parade! Parade entries are now being accepted for the 2014 Poinsettia Parade scheduled for December 13th at 5pm on North Port Boulevard. Talented groups, entertaining specialty units, floats, and unique vehicles are all welcome to bring a colorful presence to our magical Holiday Night of Lights. Join the parade with your friends or come with your club and carry a banner! What an unforgettable way to showcase your business or organization, promote positive public relations, and get involved in quality of life activities in North Port. This year, the parade will travel north on North Port Boulevard on December 13, 2014. There will not be a festival following the parade. Instead, the Poinsettia Festival and Holiday Tree Lighting will take place on Friday, December 5, 2014 in front of City Hall. Every year, each parade unit competes for awards in the following categories: Most Original, Best Use of Poinsettias and Theme and Best Youth Entry and Best Overall. Registration fee is $30 per unit, excluding local government and active military. Registration forms, including rules and regulations, are available at cityofnorthport under the Parks and Recreation/Special Events tab and at the following locations: Morgan Family Community Center, 6207 West Price Blvd. George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way All units must be illuminated in some manner.
