Be careful who you lie down with. Knowing is good. If you go about life ignorant, and not caring what the people around you think of you, youre setting yourself up for hurt and disappointment. The kind of PERCEPTION people around you, have of you, will shape how much they VALUE you, and how much they value the things important to you. Many times we get angry and bitter when people who they expected to be there in our time of need, fail to come through for us. And most times its really our own fault, and not the person. We never slowed down and took little hints. We never listened to their response, or lack of response to us when we share our passions. We never rationalise who is really benefiting from the partnership. A person might just consider me an acquaintance, and in my head, that person is my ride or die buddy... until they ride off and leave me to die. Think about perception and value before you pull people into your close circle. Not everybody is meant to know your secrets. Not everyone will jump off a plank with you. Not everyone will throw you a rope and pull you aboard when youre drowning.
