Be magnanimous in victory, Mark tells Aregbesola President of the Senate David Mark has congratulated Governor Rauf Aregbesola on his victory at Saturday’s gubernatorial election in the state. Senator Mark in the congratulatory message asked Aregbosola to be magnanimous in victory, saying that he surely needs all the stakeholders to move Osun State to the next level. In a statement issued by his chief press secretary, Paul Mumeh, he stated that the citizens of Osun state deserves good governance and dividends of democracy as rewards for their investments as expressed in their votes on Saturday. “As the governor of Osun State, you are a father figure to all and a leader on whom the citizens of the state look up to. Therefore, it is incumbent on you to carry everybody along . You must strive to give everybody irrespective of religion or political affiliation a sense of belonging.” Tambuwal, APC reps congratulates Aregbesola Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has congratulated Rauf Aregbesola over his re-election for a second term as Osun state governor. Tambuwal praised the people of Osun State for turning out in their numbers Saturday for the election. “The enthusiasm shown by the people of Osun in taking their destinies into their hands and determining who should lead them should be applauded. Nigerians should look forward to future elections with the expectation that their voice, through their votes, would be heard and respected by all,” the speaker said. Also, the House of Representatives’ members under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) have congratulated Governor Rauf Aregbesola on his victory in the just concluded Osun state gubernatorial election. The APC Caucus Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila, in a statement he personally signed on Sunday, saluted the people of Osun for standing against the oppression of external forces. “His Excellency Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. For you it is veni vidi vici. You came you saw and you conquered. In spite of the forces unleashed against you, your victory was sweet and swift just as it was inevitable.” “On behalf of my APC colleagues in the House and all progressives, I congratulate you as you continue to lead the state and good people of Osun to the promised land for the next four years. Indeed God is with you and with Nigeria”, he added. Aregbesola’s victory triumph of truth over falsehood, intimidation - Fashola Lagos State governor Mr Babatunde Fashola yesterday congratulated the incumbent governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, on winning Saturday’s gubernatorial election, saying his victory is a triumph of truth over falsehood and intimidation. Fashola in a press statement signed by his special adviser on media, Mr Hakeem Bello, said it is a well-deserved victory. He also lauded the people and government of the State of Osun for a well-fought and won election in spite of intimidation and harassment by agencies of the ruling opposition party who sought to militarize the state during the election. The governor emphasized that the victory of Aregbesola would remain a strong indicator of the victory of truth over falsehood, pointing out that, no matter the amount of pressure or intimidation to suppress them, the ultimate power rests on the people in a democracy. Osun election has ended rigging in Nigeria - Okorocha Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha has said that the reelection of Aregbesola has ended the era of election rigging in the country. Okorocha stated this yesterday in his address to newsmen at the State House, Owerri, while congratulating Governor Aregbeshola on his victory. According to Okorocha who lauded the courage and patience of the citizens of Osun by their resilience in standing by their votes after they were cast maintained that citizens of the country have now realized the importance of waiting and protecting their votes till results are announced.
