Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! (Psalms 46:10 NKJV) If youre like me, the act of being still is probably very foreign. Especially when it comes to things like salvation, or even just enjoying Gods presence. I always feel like I have to be doing something in order to earn Gods love and attention, or His forgiveness. Galatians 3:2-3 addresses this issue perfectly. This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? (NKJV) As a follower of Christ, you and I have one extremely easy, and also difficult thing to do, and that is to believe. “...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” (Acts 16:31 NKJV) Seriously, thats it. Thats all you have to do. All other good works will stem out from that in response to the joy of Gods salvation, but the initial call is just to believe. Why is it also difficult? Because, like I said before, most of us have the toughest time accepting such a wonderful gift with no strings attached. But thats what grace is all about. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV) So stop chasing the wind in an endless attempt to try and tip some cosmic balance scale of goodness. Just be still and know that He is God. youtu.be/bKlCzY_FKag
