Be sure to go to the meeting tonight and put your voice in for clean energy...santa-rosa.granicus/MediaPlayer.php?publish_id=5. 2.1 SONOMA CLEAN POWER - COMMUNITY CHOICE AGGREGATION BACKGROUND: Council Steering Committee Members and City staff will conduct a study session for continued discussion of Sonoma Clean Power (SCP), a Community Choice Aggregation program, that will provide electric power to residents, businesses and institutions in participating jurisdictions in Sonoma County under a Joint Powers Authority for the purposes of reducing greenhouse gas emissions related to the use of power in Sonoma County and neighboring regions, providing electric power and other forms of energy to customers at a competitive cost; carrying out programs to reduce energy consumption, stimulating and sustaining the local economy by developing local jobs in renewable energy rates and promoting long-term rate stability and energy security and reliability for residents through local control of electric generation resources. Council will receive information and response to questions concerning governance, fiscal responsibility, and the implementation plan from the Council Steering Committee, receive information from City staff concerning questions of impacts to City operations, and have an opportunity to ask questions from independent advisors concerning legal and technical matters.
