Be the first in Australia to attend the Rescue 3 - TopicsExpress

Be the first in Australia to attend the Rescue 3 International: Swiftwater Recovery Specialist (SRS) or Swiftwater Recovery Management (SRM) Cost: $295 You have 2 options in attending this. If you are a current Technician you can up-skill to the SRS qualification. If you have never done any swiftwater course you can attend the minimum of day 1 of the 2 day SRS course. I am looking at dates of the 27-28 Sept 2014 - (dates to be verified). Day 1 of theory will be at Grafton, Northern NSW and day 2 will be on the natural river of the Nymboida River. SRS Course description: Two day upgrade course for Rescue 3 International Swiftwater Rescue Technicians to learn the complexities and techniques of body recovery from shallow depth swiftwater environments. Developed by international experts and using the latest research to provide an evidence based curriculum, this two day course covers legal authorities, disaster victim identification, recovery incident management, decomposition, infectious disease control, psychological considerations, management of family and media, evidence recording for law enforcement, specialist recovery equipment, methods and a series of recovery exercises. As this course uses real footage of body recoveries and decomposition, this course is not suitable for those who may find such information and viewing upsetting. The SRM course is targeted to non-water rescue qualified personnel who may have a role in water based body recovery as well as investigators, police officers, SAR coordinators, SAR advisers, incident managers, response team leaders, SAR squad leaders, public safety divers and support personnel. I will have a subject matter expert attending this course from New Zealand to assist. This is a must do course for any person who may be involved in any type of water based body recovery. You will learn knowledge and skills to a point where police on scene will be seeking advice from YOU. Trust me, after 14 years in the police this will be an eye opener.
