Beaconsfield I joined this group a little while ago in the hope - TopicsExpress

Beaconsfield I joined this group a little while ago in the hope to be inspired, hopefully learn how to keep things alive and build courage to grow my own food. Im just about ready ;) what is something small I could start with? We moved into an Italian house that has fertile ground but in the 3yrs weve been here we no longer get random lettuces growing, the asparagus and oregano have been mowed too much to salvage, the mint is barely a memory and the grapes havent got a hope. The olive tree gave us 20kg of olives last year but nothing this year (I think the severe pruning it was given maybe sent it into shock?) The chillies we planted seemed to take off and weve had a good lot but not sure if the plant is looking too good lately? managed to grow some potatoes from some that had sprouted in the cupboard and had a go at broccoli but pretty much failed. Not sure if I should try herbs in a couple of pots just for the sake of building confidence? Also, we have a dog now so that complicates things (or does it?) Would love some starting out encouragement and advice or even someone to come and help me make a garden plan? I have a bunch of seeds from The Diggers Club all set and waiting to be planted.
