Bean Buro Architects is appointed by Leo Burnett to design their 33,000sqft office space in Kwun Tong, Hong Kong. The brief is to create an ‘alternative’ workspace that is appropriate to the creative culture of the advertisement agency. The design will respond to the growing hipster culture of the post-industrial urban zone Kwun Tong in Hong Kong, and drawing parallel interpretations of the urban vibrancy of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. The subversive intervention reflects the ‘hipster trends’ in the artists community of Kwun Tong. The design consists of innovative meeting rooms that are inspired from Kwun Tong’s history of ship construction, with a retro vintage bar area to encourage social interactions and increase connectivity. A multipurpose outdoor terrace with a 10m long outdoor bar, barbecue area and cafe feel emphasises Leo Burnett’s ‘Human Kind’ philosophy, that celebrates staff integration and creative exchanges. “We enjoy working with clients who have the vision to embrace innovative ideas, which always results in great projects.” - Kenny Kinugasa-Tsui and Lorène Faure. The project is currently on site and will be completed later this year.
