Bear sighting in Pendleton Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Bear Ridge Road in the Town of Pendleton seems to be living up to its name. A bear sighting Tuesday night there prompted town officials to warn residents to be on the lookout Wednesday. According to Pendleton Councilman Ronald Morrison, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the Niagara County Sheriffs Office responded to locate the bear. Residents in the town should take precautions, said Morrison, who found out about the bear sighting through Highway Superintendent Jeff Stowell. Residents shouldnt go out at night alone and they should watch their pets, he said. The Union-Sun & Journal was unable to confirm whether the bear had been located as of Wednesday night.
