Beautiful 8 month old Maggie (pictured safely home and upside down on her sofa) was seized recently under BSL from her home in Merseyside. Maggies owner explained she and Maggie were curled up on the sofa watching TV together one evening when several officers arrived to take Maggie away for assessment to see if she was of potential banned type. Maggies owner was distressed and came through to DDA Watch for advice and support. Maggie, who was already microchipped and booked in for her spay operation, did not want to get into the police van which upset her mum greatly and she cried, thinking she may never see her beloved dog again. Our volunteers spoke to Maggies owner that night reassuring and comforting her and we continued to support her through the next few worrying days. The dog legislation officer spoke to Maggies owner the day after she was seized, informing her that Maggie was safe and well. The following day, Maggie was returned when she was found to be not of type, which brought great joy to her human and canine family. Maggie has now been neutered as planned and she is recovering well at home where she belongs, although the vet found she has a heart murmur, Maggie will be health checked regularly and she is enjoying lots of tlc and cuddles with mum. Enjoy your life lovely Maggie. With big hugs from all at DDA Watch. xx
