Beautiful Cozumeleño spirit. ~ Yesterday, at Salon Cielo, while I was finishing up an appointment and getting ready to close, my friend and I watched as this older gentleman with a backpack and hat stopped on the sidewalk and started to take some things out of his backpack. He gently picked up a stray cat, and lifted her onto a small stand and then proceeded to take out a water bowl and a small paper dish and opened a can of food for the cat. He stood there in the heat and sun, softly stroking her and as she ate he just kept talking to her and continued to lovingly stroke her as if she had been his pet and friend for many years. Every now and then he would check his phone for the time, and then go back to softly speaking to the cat. I can only imagine in my mind and in my heart the words he must have been saying to her, assuring her that she was loved and telling her she would never starve as long as he was around, telling her what a magnificent animal she was. Whoever you are Señor Hermoso Espíritu, muchas gracias for reminding me that we always have time to stop in the hot sun and give comfort to and ease the suffering of another spirit (furry or human). I am still thinking about him today and am going to get some cat food to keep in the salon so I can give it to him the next time I see him. He really touched my heart.
