♡︵Beautiful︵♡︵NENA︵♡ ****THIS BEAUTIFUL SENIOR NEEDS YOUR HELP TONIGHT! PLEASE HELP HER GET TO SAFETY BY ADVOCATING**** A volunteer writes: Beautiful Nena is a real character and tonight I fell truly, madly, deeply in love with this gentle old girl, she is such a gem and she deserves a chance to experience some comfort and joy in her golden years. Nena puts the special in special needs, she defies expectations and explanations and I guarantee youll never meet another dog quite like her! When I first found my sweetheart she lay with her chunky butt to the door, seemingly too depressed even to turn around as I pet her. I leashed her with no response and it wasnt until I started sliding her blanket out from under that adorable belly (in order to change her bedding) that Nena finally decided to stand up and turn around. Though a reluctant walker there is nothing at all wrong with Nenas legs - she can walk, jog and even do little up and down jumps of excitement when inspired by a game of chase with her human. What is going on with Nena neither her former owner nor anyone at the Care Center can say for sure. She sometimes turns in circles when off-leash and on-leash shell often walk sideways or hug the wall and I need to guide her back via tugging on the rope. She navigates the stairs slowly but surely and promptly uses the facilities as soon as we reach the top and free in a pen she greets another dog with calm, friendly interest. Nena welcomes my petting but inevitably returns to the wall or the corner. When I throw a ball fast alongside her she eagerly chases it down yet if I bounce it right under her nose she shows no interest at all. Is her issue visual, neurological or a bit of both? We simply do not know. Nenas savior will need to make a commitment to finding out and accepting her actual diagnosis, whatever it may be. All I can say is that within the short time we spent together this wonderful old dame went from totally shut down to tail-waggingly playful and I know she has so much life, love and loyalty still to share with the lucky person who opens their home and heart to dearest, sweetest Nena. https://facebook/photo.php?fbid=777170675629147&set=a.611290788883804.1073741851.152876678058553&type=1&theater
