Beautiful day in Nashville, like my daughter Sarah Awad. I have only one regret this year. She has studied Arabic so hard as a college frosh and I hoped we could send her to Egypt of the Middle East for immersion in it. However, I cannot think of an Arabic-speaking country currently that is safe, where a woman is respected and the Arabic is not guttural. Sarah shares the smarts and beauty of George Clooneys middle eastern-born fiancé. She would also love to share the language that preserved the classics lost in Europes middle ages and is associated with beautiful literature and culture. Unfortunately the illiterates who have mis-interpretated (or failed to interpret) the book that codifies the Arabic language are creating chaos. I am sure eventually her efforts will bear fruit.
