Beautique Hotels Figueira by Atelier Nini Andrade Silva From the visual ergonomics until the metamorphosis and in between the history and flow of nature, Nini Andrade Silva drew the interior architecture project of the brand new Hotel in the heart of Lisbon – The Beautique Hotel Figueira -, located as suggested by the name, on the Figueira Plaza, in the historic centre of the Capital. The concept of this hotel is born on a perfect allegoric way, all the way through the eight floors that make this building (including the ground-floor and the level -1). From the bottom to the top, from the roots to the canopy and to the structural strength to the density of the trunk, rise the branches that wander through the remaining floors in geometric and curvy proportions. The mysterious proportions of the foliage gain body and colour in a “undisciplined” will on providing unique experiences that only can be testified while wondering through the Hotel. Grounded in an architecture full of new possibilities and that it does not compound, all the space was thought and repositioned with a subtle sense where to deposit the little, the great, the low and the high, the deep, the colour rand the light, all of this, hand in hand with the proportion domain of mainstream – the Figueira. The ground-floor level, where the reception desk, the bar and the restaurant is, offers the first great experience to the visitor. Completely inspired on the concept around a fig tree, the big feature element is intensified by a tree trunk, built on a perfect game between the risk and volumetry. The organicity of the forms of nature is shown by the centre volume that rises up with a devastating architectural sculptural form. Here, harmoniously, all the space is conceived around this element of geometric organic forms of extreme voluptuousness and of a visual expressivity that transforms all the space into something unique! Tuned up with the architectural project, the trunk of the fig tree is the deconstructive note that best characterizes the entire project. The rest of the space is marked by structures that, in a organized form, rise up around the central trunk, where we can see shades in green and brown allusive colours to nature and contrasting compositions with the diversifying materials used. The same boast has to be given to the fantastic wooden carved doors that bring us to the restaurant and to the hotel that privileges the direct contact with the Figueira Square, inviting the visitors to enter and to enjoy a truly surprising space. The restaurant’s toilet facilities are located on the -1 level, on which the surprise factor is achieved by a big washstand with an ingeniously sculpted open fig form, in an allusion to its colour, texture and form. Appealing to the multimedia installations, the restaurant will benefit changes throughout the four seasons of the year, providing a sophisticated, trendy, and dynamic environment. The 50 bedrooms are a tribute to nature, accomplished by the use of big photos of fig leaves, fig tree’s trunks, and also by their hot and cold shades that makes a comfort and elegance space. The details where carefully studied, that makes every detail in an intense exercise that combines design with elegance. As we go through the different levels of the Hotel, each corridor will offer the visitor a truly unique experience. Multimedia projections and walls that turn magically into tree trunks offers a creative and a dynamic story capable of evolving the visitor in each area he crosses. In the last floor, we can find the spa, carefully thought to provide rest and relaxation. Projected on the top of the fig, the spa was considered as if it were a nest, whose curvilinear forms and organic appeal of relaxation of body and mind, while an imposing view over Lisbon stands beyond our feet.
