Beauty In The Mirror Two painters are challenged to do the best of all paintings. They are given two walls opposite one another to paint. One painter paints a whole wall; beautiful a wall it is! Charming and colourful like the roses! The other painter works secretly by shielding his work away from glaring. When the time for delivery of their works come, everyone sees the work of the first painter and applaud it Turning to the second painter, they ask him: Where is your own paintings? The second painter then withdraws the shield to reveal a mirror covered wall. Since his wall stands opposite the first painters wall, it reflects the paintings of the opposite wall which looks much more beautiful and glistering, because the shines of the sun enhance its beauty. In Sufism, the Heart is like a mirror that reflects the light of the Spirit and shines it back so that people can recognize the spirit in themselves That is why Allah judges you mostly by what your heart conceals, and not merely by your utterances and body languages.
