Because I have had so much support and well wishes from so many of you over the last three months I thought I would provide you with a quick update on my recovery. I had a follow up appointment with my surgeon yesterday and he was very pleased with the progress and cleared me to stop wearing the neck brace and return to normal activities. As most of you probably guessed that meant that I got back on the bike and did a Time Trial last night about 6 hours after removing the collar and just inside of three months of the accident. It was a very cautious ride but it felt wonderful to be outside on the bike again. One of my Doctors told me early on that I had one chance to heal and if I did it wrong I would have a bad neck for the rest of my life and if I did it right I have a memory and a good story. I guess it went right and now I have a memory that I am anxious to start forgetting.
