Because Im on study leave and I Have Time (a state of mind I heartily recommend), I have finally gotten around to reading Ruth and Maurie Crows famous Plan for Melbourne they put together for the Communist Party of Australia 1969-72. WOW - YOU ALL MUST READ IT. Page one talks about the three great dilemmas of urban planning today (which they argue should be superceded by technological advances in the future): (1) more freeways or rapid rail transit? (2) more sprawling suburbs or higher density living?
