“Because by the works of the law no man is able to have righteousness in his eyes, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin. But now without the law there is a revelation of the righteousness of God, to which witness is given by the law and the prophets; That is, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ, to all those who have faith; and one man is not different from another.” (Romans 3:20-22 BBE) Too many people who call themselves Christians are depending on keeping the Ten Commandments (or the Law) for their righteousness. But James says that if we break even one of the laws, we are guilty of them all. Do you know anyone that has lived a perfect life? I haven’t and I do not know anyone that has. The Bible says here that trying to hide behind the Law only brings “the knowledge of sin”, not righteousness! When we spend our time trying to live by the law it causes us to be constantly aware of ourselves and our efforts. We must realize that Jesus fulfilled our requirements concerning the law and there is now no law for us to keep, we can keep our eyes on Jesus and what He is doing. Thank God that Jesus fulfilled the requirements of the law and declared that “It is finished.” Praise the LORD that we have been given the life of Jesus in exchange for our old life and that through the faith of Jesus we ARE the righteousness of God IN THE ANOINTING.
