Because you love them… Youth Soccer Update Davis Stampede went to the Bay this past weekend to compete in one of NorCal highest rank tournaments, a tournament that had (including Stampede) ten “top 20” teams in Northern California and high ranking teams from out of state. The girls won their bracket with two wins against Santa Clara Sporting Green and CAP FC of OR; and a tie against Juventus. Advancing Stampede into the Quarter final where they beat a tough Mustang Blast team 1-0. Stampede played the semi-final against a dominating MVLA team, but with good defense the girls were able to take MVLA to sudden death overtime and secure the win with a late goal, saving them from going into a series of penalty kicks to determine the winner. In the final game, Stampede was up against an opponent they knew all too well, the Manteca Stars. These two teams have played against each other three times already this summer, with Stampede holding a 1-2 record vs Manteca. In this tough match up Stampede went down 4-0 at the half, the girls battle hard the second half keeping the Manteca team from increasing their lead, but to no avail as they were unable to place a goal in the net. Stampede comes home with 2nd place, confirming their top ten ranking in the state and top one hundred in the nation. Good job girls.
