Quality Assurance Coordinator ensures that all governmental and third party requirements are met in compliance, coverage and reimbursement. Esssential Duties : Communicates with physicians and providers to obtain accurate information to bill claims according to third-party payer and regulatory requirements. Follows up on CMN’s to assure timely return from the referral source. Collaborates with billing service to identify when renewal CMN’s and PA’s are required. Responsible for obtaining renewal CMN’s and as needed. Audits files, QA’s all orders, ensuring that the patient information, the encounter, and the evidence of delivery have been entered correctly, confirming completed orders when appropriate. Removes bill hold on confirmed orders. Confirms that the RX in the Patient Master has been entered to the highest level of specificity. Completes a logic test of pricing at the bottom of the Encounter. Creates batches of copied confirmed documents as required for the billing service. Works with Customer Care Coordinators, Delivery Techs, respiratory therapists, and the Operations Manager to ensure that all required information and data are obtained for billing. Adequately documents all account activities, maintaining any required records. Monitors hold report for aging incomplete files. Works the report to get the orders billed. Maintains records of errors with an emphasis on detecting trends. Completes incomplete record reports monthly. Routinely runs expiring prescription and CMN reports. Audits files for completeness. Searches and corrects medical record information in computerized master patient index. Qualifications Education : Must be a high school graduate or its equivalent. Prefer A/A (2 year) degree. Experience : A minimum of one year in medical billing experience OR two years experience in a position in a DME setting within the last five years required. DME experience in addition to billing experience is preferred. Must be computer literate and be extremely accurate in data entry function. Experience using Microsoft Office software to include Outlook and Word.
