Become a student of KNOWLEDGE!! It id OBLIGATORY to look after your mother-inother family members, to the point of doing good to others, from acquatainces to strangers from other faiths. Several examples; Muhammed (pbuh), always maintained relations, when he was married to Khadija RA, he used to always ask, help, be there in times of need for Khadijas RA sister, even after Khadija RAs death, he still maintained relations, by physically seeing her, supporting her, making shes ok, verbal communications etc. Another example, when his family members from the Quresh tribe treated him badly, they joined hands with the enemies of Islam & made Muhammed (pbuh) leave Mecca, he still prayed from them & supported them, even though his life was in danger. He even visited a sick Jewish woman, how treated him badly! Its not about you, its how you develop character within yourself, for the sake of Allah Subanah WaTaala, do it to please Allah, not for the Thankyous of people. As people will always will disappoint. Lastly, women married, yearning for their mothers, remember, other women will come to look AFTER your mother. Just like you dont think you need to look after your mother-in-law, YOUR new relations, they will Inshah Allah will do the same. It will hurt you more to know & hurt even more to witness negligence in loving & caring for YOUR mother & other family members. When you get older, & more physical & mentally frail, you need that person who will love & care for you. Western, Culture & Aetheist thinking will only last so long, & you will regret when youre in a nursing home, left alone by your daughter-in-law , family. Or worse, to have family around, but the daughter-in-law isolated you from family. I will be personally happy to have another MOTHER, whos feet lays Jannatul Firdous!! Double the guarantee!! Seek forgiveness Ummah for thinking outside the correct Sunnah. Brothers, look for RELIGION 1st & foremost, & who has genuine knowledge, whos Student of Islam. If she has Islam 1st, everything else will fall into place.
