Been a bit hectic here at CHS. Our former breeding manager is no longer with us (personal reasons) so it has been necessary for some of us to take on additional responibilities. Assistant Trainer Samone Wilson is now collecting our stallions, a role, Tony was not keen on being involved with... (Ive spent time in the breeding shed. I know its very silly, but for some reason when its my baby boy, Bluesman, I prefer not to watch!) Bad news, only 8 of our mares were pregnant in mid-June, good news, they are 8 of our best. The babies will be a bit late next year, but hopefully well have a dozen more of our good mares pregnant ASAP. I believe weve kept up with everyone who is breeding to any of our studs this season. A few new orders for Bluesman came in just yesterday tho, and were no problem. Dr. Hunter Ortis (coolest equine vet alive) has been a Godsend and extremely generous with his time. Samone collects and drives it just up the road. Dr. Ortis takes care of the rest. So, if any of our customers need to re-breed or there are mare owners that would still like to breed to any of our studs, please let us know as soon as you can. Either a young black man or an old white woman will answer your call. :) Seems like a lot of tough things hit the farm all about the same time. We lost perhaps my favorite colt, Caramac/Local Motion. Was a handsome healthy kid. Were not sure, but it was possibly a blow to the head, kicked or fell? I was positive I was going to nurse ONE back to health. He got my hopes up by getting better, but then took a turn for the worst... Well, enough bad news, I best be countlng blessings. Behind on my picture taking, so am posting one today of the wonderful Carson Kressley riding the best totally finished mare that has not sold, Blink! (He said she was a blast to ride) There are some people coming back to look at her again tomorrow...I hope shell be hitting the show ring soon! Have missed you guys- Tony
