Been a difficult week. After coming in from the family room to the dining room slipped on a CD case that the dogs had knocked on the hardwood floor and my feet went out from under me. Barely been able to walk, as it was my left leg that I have the cerebral palsy in that took the greatest damage. Back to using a walker, BLA. Went to the emergency room, got X-rays, at least nothing was broken, hated being back in that place. Getting better though, able to walk more and more now with just a cane. Yesterday Verne and I had to take an unplanned trip to NYC to take Portia back, the tickets for the Megabus were all sold out. It was exciting being in the city again, although temporarily. Weren’t able to take Mom and Dad out for lunch Sunday, owe them one. Dad and Joe have been working on Dad’s van anyway. 81 years old and doing his own maintenance on his old van, I love it. Liz and Nick took a bus to Smith College for Faith’s 21st birthday. Faith is one of Liz’s best friends. Portia re-united with old friends in Burlington. Listened to the RedSox and Cardinals game on the radio driving back to NYC, almost had a nervous breakdown. Big Poppy motivated his teammates. Don’t you respect a guy who can hold his own and encourage others. I love that too. Adam cooking his own version of Cincinnati Chile tonight for the next World Series game. Verne, in addition to running his own business, which is quite successful, has been interviewing for a job as a large consultant firm who nets about 65 million and year and has been recruiting Verne. He just had the third round of interviews, they seem to like him. A big plus would be he could have an office in NYC and we could write a lot off having to go there for the consulting. This was his idea, not mine, I think he works too much, but when he makes a decision like this, I go along with it because he is usually right and it works out.
